I have always been aware of the 1969 British film A Touch of Love, but I knew relatively little about it other than it starred Sandy Dennis and Ian McKellen. The title is misleading, to say the least, and the author of its screenplay, Margaret Drabble, was not happy with it either – the title, that is. Neither was she wild about the American moniker, Thank You All Very Much. Neither really sums up the content or the tone of the film, which was adapted by Dame Margaret from her own 1965 novel The Millstone, the name of which the producers, horror tycoons Max Rosenberg and Milton Subotsky, were none too happy with, either. Being a restored title as part of StudioCanal’s Vintage Classics Collection, it does though offer considerable historical merit and had a significant impact on changing the attitude and practices of the NHS.

Q: How much of this was scripted and how much was improv?

A: In the final cut I would say it’s about 80% scripted. People really liked the script but I think we could have cut a Peter Jackson 9-hour improv (laughter). The whole last scene was not scripted. Like the whole “White people pass me on the street and don’t even say hello.” I mean why would you Ever put that in the script (laughter). So yeah, that was made up and all the baby scene stuff.

Catherine Zeta-Jones surprised everyone on Wednesday when she went public with her battle with bipolar II disorder. The star's rep confirmed that the Hollywood A-lister spent about five days in an unidentified facility to deal with the illness.

"After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her bipolar II disorder," her rep said in a statement to People.com. Michael Douglas received a standing ovation at Sunday night's (January 16) Golden Globe Awards. The "Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps" star, who has recently been given the all-clear after treatment for cancer in his throat, was delighted to make his first public appearance since beating the disease to present an award at the Los Angeles ceremony.

"There's gotta be an easier way to get a standing ovation," Michael quipped as the crowd stood to applaud his entrance. "Thank you all very much. I'm really very, very happy to be here tonight. It's nice to be back, it's my first time out this year." He then announced that "The Social Network" had won the Best Drama Picture award.

Earlier in the evening, Michael, who was accompanied to the ceremony by wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, had spoken of his relief at beating cancer. He told E! News, "Tumor's gone, and this type of cancer doesn't usually come back.

Tonight's Golden Globes included exciting wins, funny jokes, and great looks. Ricky Gervais opened the show with a beer and some harsh jokes, but he also did a great job of introducing guests and keeping the show moving along. Early highlights of the evening included Christian Bale's win for The Fighter and a very touching speech by Glee's Chris Colfer. Annette Bening was thankful to her fabulous cast and called her onscreen partner Julianne Moore a "class act." She closed her speech with an adorable shout-out to her husband Warren Beatty, who won the Golden Globe for most promising actor in 1962. Although The Tourist didn't take home any big awards, Johnny Depp got plenty of camera time, which we were thankful for.
