Fede Alvarez And Rodo Sayagues Won’T Be Part Of Evil Dead 2
Wow, I’m not really sure how to take this news right now. Fede Alvarez and his writing partner Rodo Sayagues were the geniuses who rebooted Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead to a pretty positive reception (I personally loved the film), with Fede’s chaotic vision driving this bloody, violent, balls-to-the-wall horror extravaganza. Not only that, but Fede has been teasing all these crazy ideas on where the franchise can go, from doing multiple sequels to having a new world/old world meet-up between Ashley “Ash” Williams and Mia – tying together both Alvarez’s and Raimi’s franchises. We know Fede has other projects going on, but he still seemed awfully excited to get Evil Dead 2 going – especially with Army Of Darkness 2 being confirmed.

Well, it looks like if any of the above teasers are going to happen, they’re going to happen without Fede Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues.

Morning Brew: President Obama continues to fight for Lgbt equality, Dani Campbell lezzes it up on "Kourtney and Kim Take Miami"

Good morning, Brewbies.

President Obama has issued an official message to the National Conference on Lgbt Equality, praising them for their history of grassroots political activism and encouraging them to continue to fight the good fight.

The White House also said on Friday that the issue of same-sex military benefits has the president's attention:

The president is absolutely focused on and aware of the need to further implement Dadt [repeal], and to ensure that proper benefits are provided … You know, for more details, I would point you to the Defense Department, but this is an issue the president is aware of and it has his attention.

And speaking of same-sex military spouses, Fort Bragg named lesbian military wife Ashley Broadway as the "spouse of the year." She's now in the running to be the Army's national spouse of the year.

Hey, remember Dani Campbell...

Remember Me:  John Calley (1930-2011) – “A Class Act”
Hollywood joke:

A writer, a director, and a producer are crawling across the desert without water, dying of thirst. They look up and sticking out of the sand is a nicely chilled bottle of apple juice. Before the writer and director can grab it, the producer is on his feet, unzips his pants and starts peeing into the bottle.

“What’re you doing?” the writer and director cry.

“Fixing it!” says the producer.

So, that attitude in mind, when I tell you John Calley died last Tuesday at age 81, and if the name is unfamiliar and I try to enlighten you by saying he was a producer and – worse – a studio executive, no doubt at least a few of you who regularly patronize this site out of your love for film and filmmakers might shrug and say, “So what?” A dead studio exec? That’s like that other joke, the...

Actress Lindsay Lohan won't be starring as porn star Linda Lovelace in "Inferno" after all.

The troubled starlet was to make her comeback playing the famous porn star in "Inferno," but director Matthew Wilder told E! Online he could no longer wait for Lohan as she continues her treatment at the Betty Ford clinic.

"We are withdrawing our offer from Lindsay Lohan," Wilder said. "We are currently in negotiations [with another actress] and working out the legalities of bringing her onboard.
