In an episode of Gunsmoke (Railroad, 1968), Jim Davis had the same name has he did in this show, Wes Cameron.
The fire station used for the exterior shots on 'Rescue 8' was the actual L.A.County FD Station 8, located at 7643 Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood. Station 8 was also used as the fictional 'Station 10' in the pilot TV movie for 'Emergency', and is still in service today.
The unit's vehicle was a 1958 Chevy Suburban.
