What Did Donovan Leitch’s Sister Say About Gwenyth Paltrow? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

In her recently released Say Everything memoir, Ione Skye discussed Gwyneth Paltrow and Donovan Leitch’s past romance and revealed how the Iron Man actress treated Leitch. The ex-couple had a brief romance in the 1990s. In her memoir, Ione, who is Leitch’s sister, recalls what she saw when she went on a vacation with them to Mexico. This was right after the 1994 Northridge earthquake.

The River’s Edge actress detailed the interactions between Leitch and Paltrow and claimed that she was “mean” to her brother. For the unversed, the ex-couple was linked romantically between 1993 and 1995. However, after parting ways, they remained good and close friends.

Recalling the vacation, Ione Skye wrote as per The Post, “Vacationing with Dono and his intimidating new girlfriend did not exactly sound relaxing, but anything was more relaxing than living in fear of the next earthquake.

It is common knowledge that Riverdale, and many of its major characters, is based on the Archie Comics. However, many might not know the great lengths the writers went to include as many characters from the comics as possible. While popular Archie Comics characters like Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, and Jughead Jones are well-known as iconic characters, there are many characters in the comics that aren't as well known.

Many of these lesser-known characters ended up appearing in Riverdale, which really expresses how much effort was put into the early seasons of the show as an adaptation of the Archie Comics. With these characters being so unknown, many Riverdale viewers may have assumed that they were original characters, but these Riverdale characters can be traced back to the comics, even though their Riverdale counterparts may be vastly different.

Writer-director Cauleen Smith made Drylongso when she was in college, 25 years ago, premiering at Sundance in 1998. She has gone on to create dozens of short films, art installations, and more experimental work, focused on similar themes of feminism, racial violence, and Black communities. Among the myriad reasons we could call the Criterion Channel the single greatest streaming service is its leveling of cinematic snobbery. Where a new World Cinema Project restoration plays, so too does Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight. I think about this looking at November’s lineup and being happiest about two new additions: a nine-film Robert Bresson retro including L’argent and The Devil, Probably; and a one-film Hype Williams retro including Belly and only Belly, but bringing as a bonus the direct-to-video Belly 2: Millionaire Boyz Club. Until recently such curation seemed impossible.

November will also feature a 20-film noir series boasting the obvious and the not. Maybe the single tightest collection is “Women of the West,” with Johnny Guitar and The Beguiled and Rancho Notorious and The Furies only half of it. Just like several iconic movie franchises, such as the MCU and Star Trek, Riverdale has created its own multiverse by including several alternate timelines and universes. Beginning in 2017, Riverdale is a supernatural teen drama that initially followed Archie Andrews and his friends, who all find themselves caught up in a murder investigation after their classmate, Jason Blossom, is found dead in Sweetwater River. While this investigation was at the heart of the series in season 1, the Riverdale writers soon began to explore other genres, such as the supernatural and horror, to keep the viewers engaged as the seasons went on.

While Riverdale is often known for its wild storylines, the writers took a huge risk in seasons 6 and 7 when they began setting up their own multiverse. After Archie survived the bombing in "Chapter One Hundred And One: Unbelievable", he and the rest of the main characters learned they had superhuman abilities.

In 2001, Will Smith headlined “Ali,” which brought him his first Oscar nomination. He lost the Best Actor prize to Denzel Washington for “Training Day,” but now, 20 years later, Smith can avenge that loss with “King Richard” against Washington’s turn in “The Tragedy of Macbeth.” And if he doesn’t, he would be the latest performer who has lost to the same person twice.

What do you get when you mix Twin Peaks with Archie Comics?

You get Riverdale. A dark and picturesque mystery that pulls you in with dreams of white picket fences and hidden secrets. It may sound strange at first, but it works.

Riverdale Season 1 Episode 1 introduced us to the small town of Riverdale, and the familiar faces/places we grew up reading in the Archie Comics. But it's nothing like the comics. This is Archie with an edge.

The tone is slower, the colors are darker, and the characters have their own wants and desires. This is a juicy mystery served like a soda pop at Pop Tate's Chock'lit Shoppe. (Speaking of, I love the neon coloring in the Shoppe.)

Congratulations to all of the SXSW award winners last night! Really though, a large chunk of those congratulations belong to the indie narrative Natural Selection, which swept the awards with a total of seven wins. Robbie Pickering's film took home the top prize from not only the jury comprised of Roger Ebert, Logan Hill, Michelle Satter, but also from the audience. Tristan Patterson's Dragonslayer, which looks like a real-life version of teen angst movies like Suburbia and The River's Edge, took home the top documentary award.
