This short is available on the 2003 Umbrella release of "The 400 Blows".
DIRECTOR_CAMEO(François Truffaut): Appears within the film playing in the scene inside the cinema. This is a short film called Le Coup du berger made in 1956 by Truffaut's Cahier du cinema colleague Jacques Rivette.
Debut of actress Bernadette Lafont.
In a review of Rivette's Paris nous appartient (1961), Truffaut wrote that the example of Le coup du berger (1956) made him decide to shoot "Les mistons". When Bernadette and Gérard go to the movie, they see Rivette's short projected on the big screen.
In Les Mistons, Bernadette's boyfriend, Gérard, dies in a climbing accident. Bernadette was played by the actress Bernadette Lafont and 30 years later, her daughter would die in very similar circumstances.
