    A Nice Little Series

I have only seen a few episodes of this series and I like it. I own the story A Voice in th Night and it is truly a suspenseful and scary story with a lot of subtle horror. The stories and the writing I have seen from just a few episodes is crisp and tight in the telling of very good and entertaining stories. Seriously, this needs to be on DVD like another series Bus Stop almost from the same era. As it is, this series stand alone on the strength of just the few stories I have seen. I seriously hope I can find more of this long forgotten and little known gem. If you can get copies or even few them, you will not be disappointed. At least not from the few I have seen.

    scary stuff

The episode "The Voice In The Night" must be one of the scariest episodes ever made for TV. Everyone about my age, who saw the rerun in the early 70's seem to remember it, but hardly anyone know what it was. Perhaps due to the fact that it has always been considered to be part of "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" in Sweden - perhaps Swedish TV had got the episode "by mistake". Anyhow, the episode in question is about a honeymoon couple (James Donald and Barbara Rush) who suffers a shipwreck and end up in a everlasting fog, from which there seem to be no escape. Trouble starts when everything gets infected by a mysterious fungus.... It is all told in flashback to a couple of seamen (during a foggy night) who are told not to turn their lanterns in the direction of the man who is telling the story. If it ever was rerun again - or made available on DVD.

    TV with real scripts

I'm amazed at the convoluted scripts for these 45 minutes plus shows. This series, as far as I have seen it (10 films, the Hitchcock-directed by no means being the best of them), is better than Twilight-Zone, Hitchcock Presents, Hitchcock Hour and all other TV-series. I own a DVD with 15 films (haven't seen all of them yet) in real bad quality but that doesn't stop me from enjoying them. That this series isn't on the market smells Conspiracy real bad. Many films are out there but the best ones are Always missing, kind of. What makes this shows so unique is that it looks true much more than any other series I'v seen and truth is something very unattractive in America North.

Rarely seen TV Show but very good on suspense

Hitchcock directed one episode of NBC's Suspicion episodic drama series, entitled 4 O'Clock, even though his own Alfred Hitchcock Presents was still airing on CBS.

A man who works in a clock repair store suspects his wife is meeting with someone in his own house while he is at work. He decides to get his revenge, which allows Hitchcock to work his magic and add lots of suspense and plot twists for you in just an hour's time.

TVLand broadcast this during their 100th birthday tribute to Hitchcock, but who knows if they will broadcast it again later. If you get a chance to see this, please take advantage of the opportunity!

Do not expect any Alfred Hitchcock Presents style

What I do mean is that in this series, you don't necessarily have a twist ending; but sometimes a good and surprisig one though. But every story, maybe except the first one, directed by The Master H himself, are rather fifty minutes ordinary films, nothing more. That doesn't prevent the audiences to get pleasure watching them, because you can have outstanding long length films and lousy episodes, even with a twist ending....Halk the episodes seemed to have disappeared; I only purchased eighteen of them. I would like to find the other ones, we'll see.

    • Trivia
Hitchcock was excited by the opportunity this series presented as it would be shown in an hour format, including commercials, unlike his 30 minute, with commercials, series he already had on the air. More involved stories could be told with the extra running time it allowed.
