Summaries

  • In this musical, college classmates Todd Armstrong (Frankie Avalon) and Craig Gamble (Dwayne Hickman) head out on a group ski vacation, and agree that if they're going to get girlfriends, they need to understand how women think.
  • On a college ski weekend, Todd and Craig pretend to be Jane and Nora, a pair of English girls. Their reasons? To meet girls, and to learn to ski. Along the way, Lesley Gore shows up on the bus to sing "Sunshine, Lollipops, and Rainbows", and James Brown and the Famous Flames appear at the lodge to sing "I Feel Good".—GlennR
  • College students, roommates and best friends Todd Armstrong and Craig Gamble lament their lack of success with girls. While Professor Sonya Roberts' academic explanation of the difference between the maturity of the two sexes might be part of the reason, it doesn't explain why their classmate Freddie Carter has girls throwing themselves at him left and right. They believe they've figured out at least part of his success: while they focus on either solitary athletic pursuits or those geared toward males, Freddie focuses on the co-ed variety. That's why Todd and Craig decide to tag along on the ski club's upcoming trip to the mountains, where they hope to spend more time with Linda Hughes and Barbara Norris, the two girls in who they are most interested. The problem with this trip will be that neither knows how to ski, are deathly scared of the activity, and they breaking all the bones in their body will not impress Linda and Barbara. So instead of embarrassing themselves on the slopes, they figure the best way to learn how to ski is to pretend to be girls - Jane and Nora - to be able to attend the girls' ski classes. While Todd and Craig have ploys they believe will get them closer to Linda and Barbara, they pretending to be Jane and Nora adds certain complications to the matter. The presence of voluptuous Nita from Sweden at the lodge, she who has a different perspective of male/female sexual relations than American girls, also has a factor on what happens. Todd and Craig end up having a secondary goal at the lodge when they learn the lodge manager, Mr. Pevney, is in remote psychotherapy, that secondary goal to put him over the edge mentally.—Huggo
