Thunder Island

Edit
Jack Nicholson was only 26 years old when he co-wrote this story.
Brian Kelly plays the captain of a charter boat, and a year later he'd remain near the water as the star of the television series Flipper le dauphin (1964), for which he's still best known.
Director Jack Leewood was usually a producer of low budget films. This was one of two movies he directed. Both were crime films starring Gene Nelson, a villain in this and the hero in 20,000 Eyes.
Gene Nelson started out as a movie dancer, then became a leading man in Film Noir and B-Westerns, and villains as well. During this time, though, he was mainly a director of television shows and a few features.
The first of six screenplays (or stories) written by Jack Nicholson. He co-starred in the next two, Flight to Fury (1964) and L'ouragan de la vengeance (1966) (both directed by Monte Hellman). His future Easy Rider (1969) co-stars, Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper, starred in The Trip (1967). His future Cinq pièces faciles (1970) (and several other films) director Bob Rafelson directed Head (1968). And Vas-y, fonce (1971) was Jack's directorial debut.
