Acceptable Science Fiction movie with no special effects, packing a good cast and nice interpretations

In a Spanish small town an atomic bomb is expected to explode from a rocket missile that took a wrong target and a few people have been stranded at the place. They are a motley group who face the terrible consecuences. They are an ill drunken : José Luis Ozores, a cunning thief who is robbing valuable items : Antonio Ozores, a seller: Elisa Montes , and his angry boss: Rafael Arcos , an obstinate cop : Luis Prendes who pursues a criminal person : Carlos Estrada, the latter falls for a woman of sad life : Emma Penella, an unfaithful married couple : Carlos Ballesteros, Mabel Karr and a pastor : Fernando Rey . Later on , all of them get together at the Church Del Carmen and with the help of the priest , Fernando Rey , they will find that there is still a possibility of live, things get awry when appears a young couple, Jesus Puente and Julita Martinez, with a baby .

Decent Scifi with a great Spanish cast full of known actors giving magnificent interpretations . An interesting issue, though extremely talking , concerning a possible nuclear apocalypse on a town in which all neighbours get away , except for 13 fighting for salvation, and gather in the church , then the inminent explosion of the atom-head causes panic, terror and despair among the isolated people . This is a family movie , in fact, most of the main roles are perfomed by members of the Ozores family , as Antonio Ozores and José Luis Ozores are siblings .The latter was very sick, that's why Jose Luis played an alcoholic and usually sitting . And Antonio Ozores is father of actress Emma Ozores and José Luis Ozores is father actress Adriana Ozores .Elisa Montes was spouse of Antonio Ozores and Emma Penella was the sister of Elisa Montes .As well as Luis Prendes and Mary Carmen Prendes were brothers. And Rafael Arcos is brother-in-law of Mariano Ozores. Finally , Fernando Rey and Mabel Karr were marriage in real life. All of them provide terrific performances.

It contains an atmospheric and adequate cinematography in black and white by the great profesional cameraman Godofredo Pacheco .Being shot on location in Alcalá de Henares and Torrelaguna , Madrid . As well as an evocative musical score composed by Adolfo Waitzman , adding classic music : Ave María by Franz Schubert . The picture was well directed by the prolífic Mariano Ozores, though it failed at boxoffice . As Mariano Ozores wrote , produced and directed, but was a real flop and he was bankrupt. Then Mariano promised at the future only to make comedies . Although it won prize of the National Syndicate of Spectacle to best actor José Luis Ozores and Best artistic Achievement .Mariano directed 93 films , most of them were comedies , though made some dramas as "Alegre Juventud" and "Las Dos y Media y veneno" with José Luis Ozores again . Mariano directed a lot of comedies for the greatest Spanish comedians as Paco Martinez Soria , José Luis López Vázquez , Lina Morgan , Alfredo Landa , Jose Sacristán and the successful duo : Fernando Esteso and Andrés Pajares
