Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan weighs in on whether he will ever revisit the world of the franchise, revealing that he's proud of the show and its spinoffs. While he will never say never, Gilligan expresses that he doesn't want to overdo it in terms of making more Breaking Bad projects. While the success of spinoffs like El Camino and Better Call Saul suggest that another expansion could be very successful, it might be for the best that the Breaking Bad franchise be left alone.
Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan comments on the future of the franchise following last year's Better Call Saul finale. First airing in 2008 on AMC, Breaking Bad would go on to become one of the most acclaimed and beloved TV shows of all time. Since the series came to an end in 2013, there have been two major spinoffs, including El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, which...

Better Call Saul creator Vince Gilligan recently shared that he classifies his upcoming Apple TV+ show as "mild science fiction."
Speaking with Variety, Gilligan opened up about his return to the sci-fi genre for the first time since working on the original run of The X-Files. While Gilligan noted that he wouldn't call his new series "heavy science fiction, [he] would call it mild science fiction." He explained, "[It] does have a sci-fi element to it, at its core. And there’s no crime, and no methamphetamine. It’s going to be fun and different. I have no prediction as to how folks to react to it — whether they’ll love it or hate it, or somewhere in the vast in-between."

Vince Gilligan may have created “Breaking Bad” epilogue film “El Camino” and prequel series “Better Call Saul,” but don’t expect “Heisenberg Jr.” any time soon.
Ten years after the “Breaking Bad” series finale, creator and showrunner Gilligan told Variety that he has “no interest” in a spinoff series centered around Walter White’s son Walt Jr., played by Rj Mitte.
“I’d hate the thought of Walt Jr. following in Walt’s footsteps in the crime business. That’s probably the kind of thing somebody will pitch 10 or 15 years from now — Walter Jr. as an Albuquerque crime lord succeeding where his father failed,” Gilligan said. “I could pretty much guarantee right now that I have no interest in seeing that happen. That’d be a sad tribute to the show.”
He continued, “It’s fun thinking about what would happen to the characters, but it doesn’t rise to the level of,...

Walt, Jesse, and Saul each had very different endings in the Breaking Bad universe, with Walt dying irredeemably despite trying to make amends, Jesse finding a fresh start in Alaska, and Saul taking responsibility for his crimes and spending the rest of his life in prison. All three characters got what they deserved in the end. Walt's death was satisfying due to his immoral actions, Jesse deserved a happy ending after his remorseful journey, and Saul's life in prison reflected his middle-of-the-road complex character. While Walt's ending was thrilling, Jesse and Saul had more emotional endings. However, Saul's culmination was the best in the Breaking Bad universe due to his morally gray character, skillful legal tactics, and the context it provided to Breaking Bad's story.
The Breaking Bad universe arguably has three main characters in Walter White, Jesse Pinkman, and Saul Goodman, but who had the best ending out of the three?...

Rhea Seehorn, who played Kim Wexler in Better Call Saul, is open to reprising her role in the future because of the depth and complexity of the character. Seehorn learned a lot from playing Kim and values the opportunity to evolve and grow as an actor over the course of seven years. Kim's character resonated with fans, and Seehorn recognizes the importance of the viewers' connection to her, as they often become her character's confidants in scenes.
Better Call Saul star Rhea Seehorn is open to reprising her role as Kim Wexler. Kim was introduced in Better Call Saul season 1 as a new character who never appeared or been mentioned in Breaking Bad. Despite not being a familiar face, Kim became a beloved character, and other than Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman, she ultimately received more focus and development than any other character on Better Call Saul. Better Call Saul's success suggests that other Breaking Bad spinoffs could work, but replicating what made these two series great is not easy. A Mike Ehrmantraut prequel and a Gus Fring prequel would risk losing what made these characters special and would not be as good as Better Call Saul. A spinoff centered on Jesse Pinkman after El Camino or anything featuring Walter's family after Breaking Bad would risk ruining their character arcs and the impact of Breaking Bad's ending.
Some popular Breaking Bad spinoff ideas would have been much worse than Better Call Saul, which is among the best spinoff shows ever made. Better Call Saul was not just a Breaking Bad prequel, as it also followed Bob Odenkirk’s character during and after the events of Breaking Bad. Better Call Saul’s success suggests that many other Breaking Bad spinoffs could work too, but replicating...

A large part of Breaking Bad's success can be attributed to its well-crafted and compelling characters, who were brought to life by a talented cast. A new AI-generated video re-imagines three of these characters – Bryan Cranston's Walt, Giancarlo Esposito's Gus, and Bob Odenkirk's Saul – as Muay Thai fighters. The high quality of Breaking Bad, along with spin-off projects like El Camino and Better Call Saul, have contributed to the lasting impact of the show and the continued prevalence of its characters in popular culture.
Breaking Bad characters become ripped Muay Thai fighters in a bizarre but compelling AI-generated video. Created by Vince Gilligan, Breaking Bad first aired on AMC in 2008. The crime drama stars Bryan Cranston as Walter White, a terminally ill high school teacher who turns to cooking meth to support his family. Breaking Bad ran for 5 acclaimed seasons, coming to an end in 2013, but...

The ending of Better Call Saul couldn't have been more satisfying, but the ambiguity of what happens next has left even the show's stars disagreeing. Better Call Saul follows the life of lawyer Saul Goodman both before and after the events of Breaking Bad. Breaking Bad has received countless accolades and is often regarded as one of the greatest crime series ever made. Better Call Saul somehow rivals it. However, there's one big difference between Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. While Breaking Bad has a definitive ending and wraps up every character arc, Better Call Saul concludes somewhat ambiguously.
In Better Call Saul's ending, Jimmy is finally thrown in jail for his affiliation with Heisenberg and is given an 86-year prison sentence. When he's working in the prison kitchen, Jimmy gets a visit from Kim (Rhea Seehorn), who is pretending to be his lawyer. They share a cigarette,...
