Jean-Paul Belmondo character tells Angela and Émile that he wants to watch the movie À bout de souffle (1960) (aka "Breathless") on TV. The year earlier, Jean-Paul Belmondo played the lead role in this Jean-Luc Godard groundbreaking French New Wave film.
Jean-Paul Belmondo's character asks Jeanne Moreau (uncredited) how "Jules et Jim" is. Jules et Jim (1962) was released in 1962, the year after Une femme est une femme (1961) (aka A woman is a woman) .
In one scene, when there is a mention to the film Vera Cruz (1954), Jean-Paul Belmondo character turns to the camera and imitates the smile of Burt Lancaster, one of the stars of the said movie.
Film debut of Anna Karina, though her first filmed role was in Le Petit Soldat (1963) which was completed in 1960 but due to French censors it was released three years later.
