This "movie" is actually made of two color one hour episodes: "The Dodger" (1961) and "Assignment in Gloribee" (1962). The two episodes are edited together and there is no connection between the two separate episodes.
"The Dodger" has Hardy the target of a vengeful ex-con who puts out a wanted poster, aka dodger, on Hardy. When the bounty hunters fail, the ex-con and his loyal henchman decide to take matters in their own hands.
"Assignment in Gloribee" has Hardy trying to cooperate with a cynical female writer from Boston who comes out west to do a story about the country. But she already has a very negative viewpoint of the area. It doesn't help that her father is a big stockholder in Wells Fargo. The lady meets up with a likable rogue of an outlaw who takes a shine to her. Will she ever see the light?
Jack Ging appears in "The Dodger" episode but is nowhere in sight for "Assignment in Gloribee" as he had left the series when that one was filmed. That doesn't help with the editing.
Patricia Owens plays the lady writer and she was still trim and youthfully beautiful. Patricia is the best thing about "Gunfight in Black Horse Canyon."
I am watching it now on Grit TV. It's an entertaining western movie as long as the viewer can overlook the uneven scenes due to the editing.
