BayView Entertainment LLC is excited to announce that it has entered into a Distribution Agreement with Film Masters to bring restorations of film classics to the masses via streaming video platforms.

The agreement with Film Masters heralds BayView’s further commitment to classic film restorations. BayView’s 2023 release of the 3-D Film Archive’s restoration of Robot Monster (1953) became one of their biggest releases of the year. This year’s Film is Dead. Long Live Film!, Peter Flynn’s documentary about film collecting as preservation, has been a big success on the film festival circuit, and will soon be broadcast on Turner Classic Movies.

Having previously founded the preservation/restoration-minded The Film Detective, producer-archivist Phil Hopkins started Film Masters as a natural offshoot, with a focus on giving niche cinema first-class attention. “We are archivists, committed to storing film elements for future generations and reviving films that have been sitting dormant for decades.

Bill Karn’s Door-to-Door Maniac was originally released as Five Minutes to Live in 1961, then re-released under the new title in 1966 by American International Pictures with some added salacious content and an altered ending. Either way, what you get is a low-budget heist film that boasts a cast packed with seasoned character actors, some outlandish plot elements, and an absolutely feral performance from country music star Johnny Cash as career criminal Johnny Cabot. The zesty melodramatic script was written by actress Cay Forrester, who plays beleaguered housewife Nancy Wilson.

In true noir fashion, Door-to-Door Maniac is related in flashback. Seated in a darkened room surrounded by shadowy figures, Fred Dorella (Vic Tayback) describes how his novel idea for a bank robbery went awry. Fred’s plan involves Johnny holding Nancy hostage in her own home, forcing her husband, Ken (Donald Woods), a bank VP, to oversee Fred’s substantial cash withdrawal from the bank vault.

Door-to-Door Maniac and the ultra-rare bonus film Right Hand of the Devil, are a ‘60s double dose of neo-noir cult classics, available 27th August 2024 in a special, two-disc collector’s edition on Blu-ray and DVD from Film Masters.

Originally released in 1961 as Five Minutes to Live, this low-budget crime drama was re-released in 1966 as Door-to-Door Maniac. Fred narrates the film in flashback, detailing a suburban bank robbery that goes awry. As part of a simple plan, he hires a hard-up, psychotic hood, Johnny Cabot, to take the wife of the bank’s vice president hostage in her own home. What follows is a robbery gone awry in every way! Nu Image and Millennium Films are reportedly working on a fifth entry in the Rambo series, titled Rambo: New Blood. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news and confirmed that the studio is now treating Rambo as more of a "James Bond" type franchise. Sylvester Stallone will not be battling Isis in the next Rambo sequel, despite inaccurate reports circulating the Internet. Rumors began to swirl Monday morning that the veteran actor-filmmaker would reprise his legendary role as war veteran John Rambo in a new film called Rambo: Last Blood. However, a representative for Stallone denied those claims to Rolling Stone, noting that the actor was not even at the event. "Sylvester Stallone did not attend Comic-Con 2015, and consequently there was no official remark from him regarding Rambo made there at the event," the rep says.

After years of will-he-won't-he development stories, Sylvester Stallone has kicked off 2015 with the announcement that he will shortly be revisiting 'Nam-vet one-man-army John Rambo. New Rocky and Rambo films kick off Sylvester Stallone's 2015 shooting schedule...

Sylvester Stallone is set to be a very busy man in 2015, with a trio of new projects set to film.

Stallone has confirmed on his occasionally-updated Twitter feed that he's heading off to Philadelphia to reprise the role of Rocky Balboa in spin-off movie Creed. That's the one where Michael B Jordan will be playing the grandson of Apollo Creed (who was, of course, played by Carl Weathers in the Rocky films). Rocky Balboa will become the new Creed's trainer in the film.

Then, he's making Last Blood, which is expected to be the final film in the Rambo series. No further details are available on that one yet. It's still unclear, therefore, whether Stallone will be directing Rambo: Last Blood as well.

Stallone is currently filming his role in mob story Scarpa and Rocky spinoff Creed is in pre-production.

In an interview with Vulture back in August, he said he was already getting into shape to reprise the role.

On Sylvester Stallone’s Twitter page, he tweeted his upcoming projects next year with the Rocky spin-off film “Creed,” and then “Rambo: Last Blood.” And then to wrap things up in “Scarpa,” a film based on the real life Greg Scarpa.

With “Creed,” this spin-off to the “Rocky” films will follow Apollo Creed’s grandson with Rocky training him to be a boxer. Apollo Creed, played by Carl Weathers, boxed Rocky in “Rocky” and “Rocky II.” In “Rocky III,” Apollo trained Rocky to fight a younger James “Clubber” Lang. So the new film sounds like Rocky is returning the favor.

First up is the Rocky spin-off Creed, which will focus on the grandson (Michael B. Jordan) of Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) being mentored by Rocky Balboa (Stallone). Wesley Snipes is back in action and is set to star in a Chuck Russell-directed remake of the 1961 Johnny Cash-led crime-drama "Five Minutes to Live" for Hannibal Pictures.

The original starred Cash and Vic Tayback as two thieves who conspire to rob a bank and hold the bank manager’s wife hostage. Russell and Raul Sanchez-Inglis co-write the script for the remake.

Joseph Nasser, Michael Mendelsohn and Richard Rionda Del Castro will produce. International rights for the project will go on sale next week at the American Film Market.

When it comes to Sylvester Stallone, never count a franchise as dead. Despite the success of his latest film series, the Expendables (although the returns are diminishing), he is bringing back his two most iconic characters: Rocky and Rambo.

Stallone told ComingSoon that John Rambo will fight again in Rambo: Last Blood. Despite wrapping up the character in Rambo (2008) and the fact that the character, like the actor, is advancing in age, the Vietnam veteran will be back in action one more time. Stallone is giving away no plot details, but he hints that this will be the No Country for Old Men of Rambo films. Another question is how this affects the proposed Rambo TV series.

Just yesterday, we reported the news (first broken by Film Divider) that shooting was set to start on the fifth and presumably final Rambo movie at the end of next month. Sylvester Stallone is taking on the role of John Rambo once more, and the production is set to last until early next year.

We now learn that the film has a title and director, too.

So then: Rambo 5 will now be called Rambo: Last Blood, and the man calling the shots behind the camera will be Sylvester Stallone. Stallone last directed the first The Expendables movie in 2010, and he also helmed the fourth Rambo film prior to that.

The film may be ready for release by the end of 2015. Don't be surprised if it turns up in 2016 though.

We've been hearing about a fifth Rambo film for a few years now, and Sylvester Stallone is ready to jump in a get it made! Not only that but it looks like the movie has a title.

According to Comingsoon, the movie will be called Rambo: Last Blood, and Stallone is planning to direct it! The action franchise started with the title Rambo: First Blood so it's only appropriate to end it with Last Blood. There's no official confirmation of this, but it's not that hard to believe.

Right before The Expendables 3 tanked at the box office this past summer, creator and star Sylvester Stallone revealed that he will next return to the world of Vietnam Vet John Rambo in Rambo 5. Now, a new rumor claims that the official title of this final sequel is Rambo: Last Blood.

A reader at Coming Soon reportedly dropped the title in their lap with no further information. The report claims this will officially be Sylvester Stallone's last go at the character, and he plans on directing the movie himself.

The Mega Man baddie gets his own custom version of operation thanks to one dedicated fan.

Fan Kodykoala modded the classic board game Operation to feature this good robot gone bad in what would likely be a Dr. Wily-approved endeavor. This custom game is actually made from an Iron Man Operation board and a Jazwares Guts Man figure. In the original Mega Man, he was a construction robot built by Dr. Light and the strongest of all of the robots from that first game. One chip modification from madman/bad hair enthusiast Dr. Wily and "Hello villain."

Troubled vet John Rambo confronts a lifetime of killing in this free Flash game.

Created by Peter Javidpour (@javidpower), The Last Blood is described on the game's YouTube page as "The spiritual successor to the Rambo series." And "spiritual" is precisely the way to describe the game, whose big twist in the opening moments I won't spoil here (it's quite funny, but there's more to it). While the subsequent game appears to be poking fun at the ultra-macho Rambo movies (and it is poking fun, but not too hard), there's some solid design here in this 8-bit send-up with a cute theme about reversing a lifetime of violence (or simply that hugs are nice, the jury's still out on that score).

Sundance is not only the place to see some of the hottest movies; it's also a place where deals are made. Deadline reports that Joseph and Jack Nasser have teamed with Jan De Bont (Speed) to direct a remake of Five Minutes to Live, based on the 1961 Johnny Cash film. Casting is set to get underway immediately.

Raul Inglis (Transparency) penned the story that follows "two men as they execute a terrifying bank robbery. One guys holds the bank manager’s wife hostage and the other tells the manager she’ll be killed in five minutes unless he transfers money to an account of their choosing." Five Minutes will be financed by Nasser Entertainment/Nasser Group North. North American rights will be overseen by Paradigm Motion Picture Finance Group.
