Aldo Fabrizi, Christine Kaufmann, and Totò in Totò, Fabrizi e i giovani d'oggi (1960)

Trivia

Totò, Fabrizi e i giovani d'oggi

Edit
Italian censorship visa # 32462 delivered on 26-7-1960.
Totò and Aldo Fabrizi had already played future in-laws in Fripouillard et Cie (1959), although that movie focused mainly on another aspect of their relation.
It's known that during filming both Totò and Aldo Fabrizi often couldn't stop laughing, as later stated by same Aldo Fabrizi. He stated that, being serious professionals, he and Totò tried to keep concentrated thinking to sad things, even to the death of a dear friend. However, the trick worked only for a few seconds, after that they usually bursted out laughing.
The restaurant where the two families first meet is Restaurant Parsdiso Terrestre in Rome, used as location also in Viaggi di nozze (1995).
The scene of the first meeting between Antonio Cocozza ( Totò ) and Giuseppe D'Amore ( Aldo Fabrizi ) spoofs the duel between Marshall Will Kane ( Gary Cooper ) and Frank Miller ( Ian MacDonald ) in Le train sifflera trois fois (1952).
