Lighter Than Hare (1960)

Trivia

Lighter Than Hare

Edit
One of the few Looney Tunes cartoons to feature a theremin as one of the instruments in the score.
Bugs flying like a helicopter (using his ears as a rotor) was also seen in a series of Peanuts cartoon strips. In these, Snoopy flew by in the same manner and created all sorts of havoc. He was called a whirlidog.
In this film, Bugs Bunny lives at the deserted Highway 17. The location is depicted from above, with a vague aerial view of the states of Oregon and Washington.
Yosemite Sam's jet pack was based on the first such devices being tested at the time. It would be seen at the New York World's Fair in 1964, as the Bell Aviation Rocket Pack, and onscreen in James Bond's Opération Tonnerre (1965). The futuristic invention even made a cameo on Time Machine (1965).
Mel Blanc spoke with his "Marvin, the Martian" voice, as Yosemite Sam of Outer Space's robot & mechanical ferret, just before Bugs disguised a mechanical robot, with a rabbit disguise then claiming to surrender. As the cartoon concludes, the mechanical robot, disguised as a rabbit in a cloth suit, exploded on Yosemite Sam from Outer Space's home planet & to his president, commander or leader.
