- TriviaThe original cartoon finished with Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam playing a game of Russian Roulette after they find out they both lost the election. This has been edited in most broadcasts, but the cartoon appears complete in the and the earlier international available super 8-mm releases and now in the new DVD release. Update: In 2023-24, the version shown on MeTV Saturday mornings also includes the Russian roulette ending.
- GoofsWhen Yosemite Sam announces his plan to get rid of every rabbit Bugs says "This calls for 'stragedy' " but closed captioning spells it as strategy.
- Quotes
[Sam rigs a cannon to the front door of Bugs' campaign headquarters]
Yosemite Sam: No one will vote for a flattened-out rabbit skin, I always say.
[Runs to the back door and knocks]
Bugs Bunny: Oh, you?
Yosemite Sam: Yes, rabbit. I come to extend my hand in friendship. I like you, rabbit. You're a good Joe.
[Taps his foot on floor]
Yosemite Sam: Someone knocking at your front door, rabbit.
Bugs Bunny: Excuse me, Doc. I'll be right back.
Yosemite Sam: [to himself] In little bitty pieces.
Bugs Bunny: That was someone for you, Sam. She said to mention St. Louis.
Yosemite Sam: St. Louis? Emma! Yahoo! Emma, here's your Sammy boy!
[Runs out to front door; Explosion; comes back all burnt and dazed]
Yosemite Sam: Same old Emma. Full of laughs.
- Alternate versionsThe version aired on the Cartoon Network are cut and fade to black after Yosemite Sam says "mare?" The original ending has Bugs Bunny asking "anyone for Russian Roulette." Sam and Bugs take turn firing the gun. The gun doesn't fire on Sam, but when Bugs fires, it goes off, but Bugs says he missed. The bullet did hit Sam, to which he says "I hate that rabbit."

Another winning Looney Tunes episode this time finds Yosemite Sam running for Mayor when Bugs Bunny shows up and decides to run against him. With the two in a battle for the job you just know one of them are going to get blown up. The word explosion is the key here because there are many throughout the short and all of them get some very big laughs. We have an exploding cigar, piano, canon and all of them give some hysterical laughs. Sam's character is wonderful here and really steals the film, although there's no doubt he was one of Bug's greatest co-stars. What I also enjoyed was the look of Sam after being blown up countless times. Each time gave Sam a new look and I loved all of them.
