Rhino has unveiled a new vinyl box set collecting Rush’s four studio albums from 1989 through 1996, arriving this Friday (November 1st).
The 6-lp set houses Presto (1989), Roll the Bones (1991), Counterparts (1993), and Test for Echo (1996) — all of which have been out of print on vinyl since they were last reissued in 2015. Counterparts and Test for Echo are spread across two LPs and three sides each.
These would be the final four albums Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart recorded for Atlantic Records prior to going on hiatus in 1997. Each record features original artwork, plus a print featuring reimagined cover art, and comes housed in a slipcase featuring new artwork by the band’s longtime art director Hugh Syme.
Rush signed with Atlantic prior to the release of Presto, which peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard album charts in 1989. The band enjoyed more success with its follow-up Roll the Bones in 1991, hitting No.

In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, players are able to equip certain abilities and swap them out on both Miles and Peter. While some of these can be further upgraded with various skills, they are quite powerful on their own and only get better and better. Players must choose between two abilities for each slot once they have all of them unlocked, and four total abilities can be active and equipped at the same time, although they can also be swapped at will.
There are eight possible abilities that Miles can equip, and most of them are unlocked through the main story and some are found in Miles’ Skill tree. Miles has four abilities that are based on his own Venom powers, and four abilities that focus more on lightning and shock damage. Unlocking various skills in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will make these abilities better, and the Venom abilities have some...

Unlike the previous Insomniac Spider-Man games, Spider-Man 2 allows you to play as both Miles Morales and Peter Parker throughout the open-world adventure. While you will occasionally need to play as one or the other for a specific story mission, each will be utilized throughout the campaign and open-world segments. The opportunity to play as both is very much welcome, though it does raise the question, ”Who is more powerful: Miles Morales or Peter Parker?”
No, I’m not talking about which character is more powerful in the grand scheme of the Marvel multiverse. That’s a very nerdy, very long discussion for another day. Instead, I’m talking about the fact that Spider-Man 2 gives Miles and Peter their own skill trees as well as a “Shared” tree that contains abilities that affect both of them. Given the unique nature of that system, you’re inevitably going to wonder...

Leveling in Baldur's Gate 3 provides stat increases and access to new spells and subclass features that enhance your character and companions. The max level cap in the game will be raised to 12 upon Baldur's Gate 3's official release, allowing players to unlock more powerful spells and abilities. Leveling in Baldur's Gate 3 is based on gaining Xp by defeating enemies, engaging in dialogue, and completing quests, and players can make skill-based decisions to enhance their character's build as they climb levels.
In Baldur's Gate 3, or really any Crpg for that matter, hitting the max level cap is one of the most important goals in a playthrough. However, unlike other games that put an emphasis on leveling, in BG3, it can feel a lot less important, as characters can actually play through a significant portion of Act 1 without leveling. That said, leveling up increases a character's stats and provides access to new...

Since his first appearance over 80 years ago, Shazam has amassed a stellar rogue’s gallery. Shazam’s villains are a diverse group, ranging from demons to mad scientists–and even a few that defy easy classification. Shazam has had two publishers through his career, Fawcett and DC, with each contributing villains; in some cases, such as Doctor Sivana and Black Adam, they have been reinterpreted for modern times while others have slipped into obscurity.
It is worth noting that Shazam’s villains occupy a very special place in comics history. In the 1940s, Shazam’s then-publisher Fawcett Comics united all of his villains into the Monster Society of Evil. Not only was this the first super-villain team in comics, but also a landmark story that laid the foundations for modern crossovers.

There have been two versions of Chain Lightning: the first was a one-off Shazam villain, menacing his sister Mary Marvel.

Humphrey Bogart and Eleanor Parker in Chain Lightning (1950) will be available on Blu-ray June 22nd from Warner Archive
Matt Brennan (Humphrey Bogart) plans to show the potential of the Ja-3, an experimental jet – by flying it from Nome over the North Pole and into the Pentagon’s lap in Washington, D.C. The Ja-3 has never been tested at this range and can’t provide enough pressurization at 80,000 feet. But Brennan has modifications in mind…and no shortage of courage. Eleanor Parker, as a former World War II flame, fuels the romance in this adventure that tapped into the era’s fascination with jet aviation.
Chain Lightning stars Humphrey Bogart, Eleanor Parker, Raymond Massey, Richard Whorf, and James Brown

Claudia Barrett, an actress whose busy television career of the 1950s was destined to be outdone in the public’s memory by her film performance alongside a gorilla-suited alien in the camp sci-fi trash classic Robot Monster, died April 30 of natural causes at her home in Palm Desert. She was 91.
Her death was announced by her family.
“Although she loved acting, by the mid 60s she realized her career wasn’t advancing, so she switched to ancillary jobs in film distribution, publicity, and PR, but was not satisfied,” according to her family-written obituary. “However, in 1981 she found her dream job at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). She worked in the division that produced the awards for scientific and technical advances, got to go to the Academy Awards Show every year, and was able to give tickets to family members in the early years.”

EA details the character abilities we'll see as we play Han, Leia or Palpatine in Star Wars: Battlefront...
We're already preparing our best gravelly "Fully operational battle station" Emperor Palpatine impression, as EA reveals details of three additional characters in Star Wars: Battlefront. As you've probably gathered, they're household names from the Star Wars-verse: on the side of all that's good in the galaxy, there's Leia Organa and Han Solo. On the side of evil, the cackling, scheming Emperor Palpatine in his fright make-up.
They join the characters already announced - Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett, Darth Vader - as the six heroes and villains we'll be able to briefly control at certain moments in the game. Each will have their own unique ability; Luke with his Force Pushes, Sabre Rushes and Smouldering Sulk ability (we may have made the last one up), Vader with...

As the countdown to Star Wars: The Force Awakens continues, legions of fans are also looking forward to the highly-anticipated video game Star Wars Battlefront, which will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC formats on November 17. Yesterday, we showed you a new video game trailer that brought the game's explosive action to Earth, but today, Playstation Blog has revealed three new characters that fans can play as in the game, Han Solo, Princess Leia Organa and the nefarious Emperor Palpatine.
The blog post from Jamie Keen, Lead Hero Designer, revealed that the team tried to "capture the essence and spirit" of the hero characters from the original Star Wars movies, which is easier to achieve with characters that have iconic weapons like lightsabers. Since Leia doesn't have a go-to weapon, the designer revealed that her "essence" had to be portrayed in a different way in Star Wars Battlefront.

Raymond Massey ca. 1940. Raymond Massey movies: From Lincoln to Boris Karloff Though hardly remembered today, the Toronto-born Raymond Massey was a top supporting player – and sometime lead – in both British and American movies from the early '30s all the way to the early '60s. During that period, Massey was featured in nearly 50 films. Turner Classic Movies generally selects the same old MGM / Rko / Warner Bros. stars for its annual “Summer Under the Stars” series. For that reason, it's great to see someone like Raymond Massey – who was with Warners in the '40s – be the focus of a whole day: Sat., Aug. 8, '15. (See TCM's Raymond Massey movie schedule further below.) Admittedly, despite his prestige – his stage credits included the title role in the short-lived 1931 Broadway production of Hamlet – the quality of Massey's performances varied wildly. Sometimes he could be quite effective; most of the time, however, he was an unabashed scenery chewer,...

Eleanor Parker's breakthrough role was in 1950s prison drama Caged, earning her her first Best Actress Oscar nomination.
She received a second nod the following year as Kirk Douglas's wife in Detective Story, while she was also recognised for her role in 1955's Interrupted Melody.

Eleanor Parker dead at 91: ‘The Sound of Music’ actress, three-time Best Actress Oscar nominee (photo: Eleanor Parker ca. 1945) Eleanor Parker, one of the best and most beautiful actresses of the studio era, a three-time Best Actress Academy Award nominee, and one of the stars of the 1965 blockbuster and Best Picture Oscar winner The Sound of Music, died today, December 9, 2013, of complications from pneumonia at a medical facility near her home in the Southern Californian desert town of Palm Springs. Eleanor Parker was 91. “I’m primarily a character actress,” Parker told the Toronto Star in 1988. “I’ve portrayed so many diverse individuals on the screen that my own personality never emerged.” At one point, wildly imaginative publicists called her The Woman of a Thousand Faces — an absurd label, when you think of Man of a Thousand Faces Lon Chaney. Eleanor Parker never altered her appearance the way Chaney did — her...
