Tom is perusing a magazine (Saturday Evening Puss) whose title spoofs the popular weekly, "The Saturday Evening Post."

Goofs
After the baby woodpecker makes a hole in a 2 x 4, Jerry feeds him a cracker, then the woodpecker destroys Jerry's stool. As Jerry carries the woodpecker out, part of the 2 x 4 is visible just before the cut to a view from outside - but the hole in the 2 x 4 is gone.

Jerry Becomes a Mom

This is the usual stuff with Tom and Jerry. A woodpecker chick is hatched while his mother is away and he thinks Jerry, the first creature he sees, is his mother. But his woodpecker instincts take over and he becomes incredibly destructive, turning everything into sawdust. Of course, Tom comes along and Jerry is victimized. The little guy now must spring into action. Pretty standard stuff for this series. A few little moments.
