I loved this film, it had that charm about it, directing was good, acting was good, and it was nice to see my great city portrayed in the 1940s. It also seemed so real, a bit like a soap opera of the time in a way, it really is a hidden treasure, just glad talking pictures exists in the UK on SKY, and the best thing about it, it is one of those channels you get free, as long as you have a sky box. It was also good to see the old glasgow shipyard get portrayed in its heyday. All in all I had a smile from start to finish, because of its charm.

- Quotes
Joe Drummond: But you're working on the Clyde, boy, and that's an honour in itself if you'd the sense to see it. Ship-building started here more than a hundred years ago. Take away the Clyde and Britain would be sunk in any war we ever had to fight. This is the cradle of the craft my lad, all about you.
