"The Screen Guild Theater" broadcast a 30-minute radio adaptation of Adventure in Baltimore (1949) on March 30, 1950 with Shirley Temple reprising her film role.
Completed in 1948, but not released until 1949 --- due to the turmoil at the studio after being purchased by Howard Hughes.
Hollywood Reporter also noted that Barbara Bel Geddes was to star in Adventure in Baltimore (1949), but was replaced by Shirley Temple after complaining about appearing in another period piece (her previous screen role was in RKO's film Tendresse (1948)). A New York Times item announced that Melvyn Douglas was to play opposite Bel Geddes as the male lead role.
Last film at RKO for production executive Dore Schary, after disagreements with the studio's new owner Howard Hughes. He would move on to MGM as its production chief.
This film bombed at the box office, resulting in a loss to RKO of $875,000 ($9.32M in 2019) according to studio records.
