The only animated short to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
First appearance of Buzz Buzzard.
This short shares many similarities with the Donald Duck short "Flying Jalopy" that was released just a few years earlier. -Both shorts were directed by Dick Lundy. -The villain in both was an anthropomorphic buzzard who was created by Dick Lundy. -Both shorts were the debut of this villain. -In both the villainous buzzard is a crooked insurance salesman.
  • In both the main character signs off on a crooked insurance policy.
  • In both the villain is trying to kill the main character in order to collect the insurance money.
Buzz is shown just near a fence that has a poster advertising fellow Lantz cast-mate, Andy Panda.
Woody has the last laugh while relaxing in an alligator akin suitcase, cleverly incorporated into the congregation of gators. At the time, alligator and crocodile skin accessories were sought after luxury items.
