This was independently produced by Regal Films and released through United Artists. For decades, the film was rarely seen. It can be seen today through the preservation efforts of the UCLA Film and Television Archives.
When John goes walking by himself at the end, one can see, in reflection of a store window, the distinctive sign and building of the famous Hollywood Brown Derby restaurant at 1628 Vine St.
This was the first production for Regal Films, owned by producer Samuel Bischoff that was incorporated in 1947. Dick Powell was on the company's board of directors.
When John goes to see Mona at her job, he parks on the street; in the background is a good view of the May Company department store on Wilshire Blvd. In 2017 the building was scheduled to reopen as the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. As of 2022, it's open and hosted its first Oscars viewing party to rave reviews.
