    Dead Man's Gold

Al St. John) are sent for by Jim Thornton, who has found gold. But when they arrive they find him dead, survived by a daughter (Peggy Stewart).

Dead Man's Gold stars Lash La Rue and Al St. John as Fuzzy the sidekick and it's a good example of a b-western with the right amount of story and action - long chases, shootouts and whip-tastic scenes with Lash whipping a glass from a guy's hand and hitting the gun hand. It's well-crafted and efficiently made, but the action really gives it a boost as well as the charismatic star and his funny sidekick. Peggy Stewart graces her pretty self as the dead man's daughter.

Lash & Fuzzy vs. the Gold Thieves

Conway and his criminals steal a letter from the stagecoach concerning an assay report of a mine worked on by Thornton. Lash and Fuzzy arrive in Gold Valley to help Thornton and his niece June, but later find Thornton dead and their only clue is Thornton's foreman Quirt. Lash goes after Conway, Quirt, and their cronies, but deduce that they are working for someone higher up. Lash and Fuzzy then set a trap to capture the killers and unmask the mastermind. This film marks the first for Lash w/ Ron Ormond, which are at times superior to his days at PRC. The head villain of the piece is simple to figure out since there is only one suspect and the plot is pretty much straight forward, but there is plenty of good fist fights and whip use by Lash. The best is at the beginning when Lash whips and lassos a shot glass from a henchman's hand and Fuzzy comments that Lash is slipping since a few drops were spilled. Rating, based on B westerns, 7.
