Edit
Actors Peppino De Filippo and Titina De Filippo, who play Peppino and Teresa, were real-life siblings, although their movie characters are unrelated. in the movie.
Actress Dorian Gray speaks with two different voices in this movie: she uses her real voice in indoor scenes, and in outdoor scenes she is dubbed by Rosetta Calavetta.
Actor Guido Martufi plays Peppino (Peppino De Filippo)'s helper. In La banda degli onesti (1956) he plays the son of Giuseppe Lo Turco, also played by Peppino De Filippo.
The original movie title had initially to be Totò a peso d'oro. The huge success of Totò, Peppino e la malafemmina, released the same year, convinced the producers to include both names in the title.
Titina De Filippo already played Totò's wife in San Giovanni Decollato (1941).
