Van Johnson and Jane Wyman in Miracle in the Rain (1956)

Goofs

Miracle in the Rain

Edit

Continuity

Ruth moves two votive candles to the foot of the St. Andrew statue. When she steps back to the aisle, the candles she took have been replaced.

Factual errors

The letter from the chaplain to Ruth lists Art's division as "The 153rd Division". The US Army did not have a 153rd Division in World War II.

Revealing mistakes

Anachronisms

Like many movies that Hollywood filmed in the 1950s, but took place in the 1940s, the women's hairstyles and dresses are strictly 1950s.
Most of the cars in this film were period correct for the WW2 setting, but occasionally cars of later vintage are seen, including a couple of 1955 Chevrolets, and a 1955 Cadillac limousine.
Art mentions he is stationed at Camp Shanks. This film's beginning is in the spring of 1942, but the construction of this real U.S. Army camp did not begin until September 1942 and did not officially open until 4 January 1943.
