Taylor Sheridan’s one Yellowstone spinoff is yet to start production after being greenlit in 2021. The series titled 6666 was set up in one of the episodes of Season 4 of Yellowstone when Jimmy Hurdstrom, played by Jefferson White, left the Montana ranch to work in the 6666 ranch in Texas.
Sheridan himself revealed the reason why 6666 is taking time to reach the small screen, and the reason suggests that the series may take even more time to get made.
Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone spinoff 6666 won’t be happening anytime soon
Unlike Yellowstone or its prequels, 1883 and 1923, 6666 is set in a real-world location in the modern day. The Four Sixes ranch in Texas is the breeding ground for the world’s finest horses and livestock, taken care of by world-class cowboys who are born and trained there.

Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone has been a ginormous hit for Paramount, that hooked millions of viewers to the screen, with Kevin Costner’s phenomenal performance and the show’s gripping storyline. The success of the original show even spun off multiple projects, based on the Dutton family universe in various centuries. But unfortunately, the success seemingly got plagued with Costner and Sheridan’s behind-the-scenes drama.
Kevin Costner as John Dutton in Yellowstone
Now, as the second part of the show’s fifth and final season is set to wrap up in November 2024, fans have begun to speculate that Kevin Costner’s character might get killed off in the finale if he returns at all. Meanwhile, as Costner’s behind-the-scenes behavior starts to make headlines, Yellowstone Comanche actor Gil Birmingham debunks the rumors with his positive remarks.

Prey successfully revitalized the Predator franchise by returning to its core concept and offering a relatable lead character to root for. The film's decision to tell the story from a Native American perspective added a refreshing, culturally significant element. The inclusion of Naru's whistle during the final battle with the Feral Predator carries deep cultural meaning, as she is specifically summoning a mythic indigenous monster known as the "Mupitsl."
A behind-the-scenes detail about Prey makes Naru's final battle with the Feral Predator even better. Compared to the more acclaimed Alien saga, the Predator movie franchise have always been seen as something closer to B-movie schlock. After the 2018 critical and commercial underperformance of Shane Black's The Predator, the series was even considered damaged goods. Thankfully, its fortunes have been reversed thanks to the success of Prey, a prequel that followed Comanche warrior Naru (Amber Midthunder) as she battled a...

Even great actors like William Shatner and Doris Day were miscast in Western movies, as their appearances and performances didn't fit the genre. Some modern actors like Ashton Kutcher and Will Smith tested their grit in Westerns, but anachronistic elements of their performance took fans out of the story. Famous Hollywood icons like Dean Martin and Raquel Welch appeared in Westerns alongside legends like John Wayne, but their presence was often distracting and didn't fit the plot.
Even the best actors can't make it work in every genre, and there have been some great actors who were totally miscast in Western movies. Westerns were popular in Hollywood from the '40s until the '60s, almost as many decades as the Old West period actually occurred in American history, and any actor looking to become famous or sustain their success appeared in a frontier story whether they were suited for it or not.

There is a period-piece level of realism that adorns the blood-soaked plot of "Prey," director Dan Trachtenberg's retelling of a familiar story about a certain solitary alien landing on Earth to hunt the populace. After all, one of the big reasons it distinguishes itself from previous "Predator" films is its setting. "Prey" abandons the increasingly dull modern and future set timelines of the sequels in favor of the Great Plains circa 1719. There the film follows the journey of Naru, a young Comanche woman trained as a healer with aspirations (and enough great skill) to be a hunter, as she's forced to protect her tribe from an onslaught of dangers.
Countless times throughout my first watch of "Prey," I kept thinking how much it reminded me of "The Revenant" — from its intimately visceral action sequences that put you at the center of the commotion to its brutal presentation of life on the frontier.

The director and lead of "Prey" turned to some surprising pop culture staples for inspiration while making the film, which has become Hulu's most successful premiere to date (breaking a record set by "The Kardashians"). Amber Midthunder, who stars in the prequel to the Predator franchise - which follows the seminal alien's arrival on Earth - tells Popsugar "Billie Eilish's music was actually "a really big part of this movie for me."
Midthunder plays Naru, a young Comanche warrior who winds up hunting the hunter. She says that she's "a huge Billie Eilish fan. Her music, at the time, really became one of my ways in." Her process, she explains, involved "everything from studying Comanche people to getting ready physically to listening to 'All the Good Girls Go to Hell,'" a song off Eilish's 2019 debut album, "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?"

Dan Trachtenberg’s “Prey,” out on Hulu now, feels like the freshest installment in the franchise since the original “Predator.”
A big part of that freshness comes from the concept, which is set 300 years before the events of the original film, in the Comanche Nation. An earlier version of the predator creature comes to earth, looking to face off against the planet’s deadliest hunter and finds a young female warrior named Naru, who has a ton of skill and something to prove. While the conceit is essentially the same as the first “Predator,” which saw Arnold Schwarzenegger lead a group of ruthless commandoes against the extraterrestrial hunter, it freshens things up with the new setting, the type of character the predator goes after and its general atmosphere.
Another way that it feels so new and fresh is because of the cast. Amber Midthunder, from “Legion,” plays Naru. She is...

This 1883 review contains spoilers.
1883 Episode 9
Taylor Sheridan clearly came in with a plan of attack for the debut season of his prequel, 1883. The pacing throughout this batch of episodes has been a carefully crafted ride, swooping up hills, dipping into valleys, coupled with a great balance of character development, shootouts, and old-West chaos to keep any audience member entertained. A major component of that ride has been the season-long mystery of what will become of Dutton-daughter Elsa (Isabel May).
In the season premiere, audiences were witnesses to the show’s golden-haired heart shot through the belly with a Lacota arrow in a horrific attack on her group of pioneers. That scene, literally a fiery introduction to the motifs of the show, conveyed the death and danger that would become characters of their own throughout the 9 episodes so far, but it left many questions. How did this happen? When does this scene fit into the timeline?...

As Sound on Sight’s Western month reaches its conclusion, two of the hosts of your favorite Disney movie podcast, Mousterpiece Cinema, Josh Spiegel and Gabe Bucsko met in the show’s vaunted and secretive HQ to discuss and debate what many people would claim is the greatest Western of all time: the 1956 John Ford film The Searchers. One of your hosts considers that claim perfectly accurate, and the other one is Josh. Who’s right? Who’s wrong? Can this debate ever be settled? It’s up to Josh and Gabe to answer these hard questions, so read on for the answers!
Josh: I don’t remember much about my freshman year in college–thanks more to an unfailingly poor memory than to partying, I assure you–but one clear memory is that of my fall-semester film professor blowing his gasket when I told him I hated one of his favorite movies.
