    Rod Serling's services were enlisted by Jane Wyman to write the third installment in this series titled 'The Director' which was aired on September 13th 1955. This was Serling's most successful year prior to 'The Twilight Zone' because he won an Emmy Award for 'Patterns' and wrote for numerous television series in this one year alone.

Most were hosted by men, and Jane Wyman was only the second woman to host an anthology series. The first was Letter to Loretta (1953) (The Loretta Young Show) hosted by Loretta Young and The DuPont Show with June Allyson (1959).
