Shemp Howard did not slick back his long hair in this film. This was because he had begun dying his hair by this time and, initially, could not use pomade.
This is one of only two Stooges shorts released in 1954 containing all new footage; the other being Shot in the Frontier (1954).
The scene with Larry eating the bowl of gumbo and the live lobster is based on the earlier done oyster soup sketch. The first time the oyster soup sketch was filmed was in the 1926 Billy Bevan film, Wandering Willies, directed by Del Lord who also directed it again in the 1941 Three Stooges film, Dutiful But Dumb. Later it is seen in the 1945 Abbott and Costello film, Here Come the Co-eds and also their 1953 TV show (in Hungry).
