    Rampaging robot

Robot Rabbit is one of the most memorable of the Bugs Bunny cartoons as it goes rather futuristic and science fiction.

Friz Freleng directed this short starring Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd.

Elmer owns a farm in Indiana and as always is irritated by Bugs Bunny who always get one up on our doe eyed Fudd.

Elmer decides to go hi-tech and gets a robot from ACME pest control. After some initial programming which consists of showing the robot of an animal with long ears. The robot goes off to work, which means blasting anything with long ears but it may not necessarily be a rabbit.

This is a funny cartoon as Bugs is involved in a few close scrapes, some genuinely funny scenes including enticing the robot with a female robot.

    A classic Bugs Bunny short.

One of the better Bugs Bunny/Elmer Fudd cartoons

This is one of the better Bugs Bunny/Elmer Fudd cartoons. It's so funny! Elmer Fudd is a farmer who hates Bugs Bunny. He invents a Robot to get rid of the pesty rabbit, but after numerous well-conceived disasters, it fails. It is directed by Friz Freleng, not Chuck Jones, but it is enjoyable nonetheless.

    A funny Freleng flick

Chuck Jones is best known as an animator who dealt with futuristic concepts. In Robot Rabbit, however, Friz Freleng directs a science-fiction story starring Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd.

Elmer owns a farm in Indiana, were carrots abound. Such an enticing smorgasbord of vegetables is irresistible to rabbits, so Bugs binges on them. When Elmer finds out, he contacts ACME pest control, which supplies him with a robot to get rid of a long-haired bunnies. However, the robot seems to think anything with long ears is a rabbit, so . . .

Bugs isn't always successful in Robot Rabbit. He gets badly concussed when the intruding pile of tin socks him. This is a very funny cartoon, with a nice ending, and brilliantly animated: few animators would take the trouble to add overlap and elasticity to a few carrots that fly into the air. Recommended for all fans of the carrot-crunching icon we knows as Bugs Bunny. In other words: Recommended to all!

"Howway! Da wabbit kicked da bucket!",

Farmer Elmer Fudd is fed up with Bugs Bunny stealing his carrots. So he calls the good people at ACME Pest Control and they send him a robot to eliminate Bugs. But, of course, things don't go as planned. Fun short directed by Friz Freleng, with a story by Warren Foster. Beautifully animated with bright, lush colors. Energetic music from Carl Stalling. Wonderful voice work from Mel Blanc and Arthur Q. Bryan. Many funny gags and lines. Love the robot and its gadgets. The female robot gag is a highlight. Elmer is especially fun in this one. A well-paced and very funny cartoon that is a treat for the eyes. Nothing beats good old-fashioned Technicolor!

    Bugs Bunny vs. The Robot

Robot Rabbit is an example of a cartoon that I watched not too long ago, and it has very quickly become one of my favourites. I love the cartoons of Bugs and Elmer together, so this was a real treat. Elmer himself is a lot of fun, and the Robot adds a lot to the cartoon but it is Bugs'(who bags all the best lines such as "watch where you're going ya hot water heater", "you dance divinely" and "why you fugitive from Stanley Steemer") show all the way. The story is fast paced and constantly interesting and there is some hilarious dialogue and sight gags, I also love the duet with Bugs and Elmer and "the rabbit kicked the bucket, the bucket kicked the rabbit" part, while the ending is priceless. The cartoon is brilliantly animated, Carl Stalling's music is witty and full of energy and the voice work from Mel Blanc and Arthur Q.Bryan is superb. Overall, a wonderful cartoon and quickly becoming a favourite of mine. 10/10 Bethany Cox

    • Trivia
The same robot was used by Sylvester hunting Speedy Gonzales in a 1964 cartoon, Nuts and Volts. The scene where the lower half of its body fell apart and parts fell out of its sockets like a person accidentally dropping its pants was also reused.
    • Goofs
When Bugs is being chased by the robot and says, "I see this cigarette machine's gonna cause me no end of trouble," his mouth is clearly not moving.
