The Ring (1952)

Trivia

The Ring

Edit
Robert Altuna received an "Introducing" credit.
Tommy's first match is at the Valley Garden Arena, a boxing and wrestling venue with seating for 2,000 at 7111 Vineland Ave in North Hollywood, adjacent to the western edge of the Lockheed Air Terminal (later renamed the Hollywood Burbank Airport). The Valley Garden opened in 1949; the exterior of the building appears in the film.

Later on, Tommy fights at the American Legion Stadium, at 1628 El Centro Ave, just south of Hollywood Blvd. Also known as the Hollywood Legion Stadium, it opened in 1919 as an open-air venue and in 1938 was remodeled into a 6,000-seat enclosed stadium. This was one of LA's two major boxing venues; the exterior of the building appears in the film as well.

LA's other major boxing venue of the era, the Olympic Auditorium, doesn't appear in the film, but it's mentioned that Tommy had fought there.
