Just okay...not one of Tim McCoy's better westerns

When the story begins, some bandits have laid a trap for Marshal Bob Day. He manages to avoid being killed but when he tries to arrest members of the gang, he's instead taken prisoner. However, his partner, Marshal Tim Barton (Tim McCoy) is coming to town and he soon tries to arrest some of these same folks....with a similar end to him as well. But while being held prisoner, Tim manages to escape and turn the tables on the gang.

The print to this film is a big rough...particularly at the beginning. But what also isn't great is Tim's sidekick (who isn't particularly interesting) and Tim's silly gimmick of holding a cape over his face when he pretends to be the gang's leader, the Chief! It strongly reminds me of "Plan 9 From Outer Space" and how ineptly Ed Wood handled the death of Bela Lugosi early into production! Overall, a subpar western from a man who could make excellent westerns...just not this one. If you insist on watching it, it's on a DVD from Alpha Video along with another disappointing western (with Bill 'Cowboy Rambler' Boyd and Art Davis), "Tumbleweed Trail".
