Back Alley Oproar (1948) is an updated remake of this short, except Elmer Fudd is trying to sleep and Sylvester is the cat.
Both books shown mention Dr. Fu Manchu, a popular and mysterious comic book character at the time.
The title refers to the expression "nuts to you," which was a popular exclaimation of anger or dismissal.
