Harvey Keitel and Britt Robertson have teamed for comedy-drama “The Letter,” now in its final week of filming in Buenos Aires, with Rodrigo H. Vila directing.

Written by Vila and Sebastián Meschengieser with script collaboration from Andy Weiss, the film follows Finn (Keitel), an old war veteran, who wants to write a goodbye letter to his only daughter. He decides to hire failed writer Julia (Robertson), who is desperate for money. The two, each feeling lost in their own ways, form an unusual yet endearing friendship that ultimately transforms both their lives.

Exclusive: The Black List and Google today revealed the four writers who were selected as the inaugural Black List x YouTube Originals Black Voices Creator Fellows. The recipients are Beverly Chukwu, Shannon Hawkins, Brandon Hines, and Duchant Johnson. More information about the Fellows is below.

Conversely, the list of actors who have earned recognition for their final movie appearances is much smaller, featuring only 18 general and two successful examples. Those who belong to this club gained entry in a variety of ways, with some having voluntarily quit acting altogether, others having specifically stepped away from film performing, and a few having sadly not lived long enough to bask in the glory of their farewell nominations.

Since film acting retirement can never be absolutely permanent while a performer is still alive, only deceased individuals can correctly be counted as official members of this group. Justin Edgar, a well-established British filmmaker and advocate for disabled people, has pushed the boundaries for accessibility films with “The Letter,” a drama shedding light on a lesser known deaf community in Germany during the WW2.

Now in post, “The Letter” was produced by Edgar, who is hard of hearing. The director, Samuel Dore, writer, exec producers and several of the crew are deaf, as well as the lead cast.

Edgar recently directed the pilot “Kirkmoore,” a coming-of-age comedy series created and written by Andrew Bogle and commissioned by Fudge Park/BBC. Set in a residential college for young disabled students, the series is currently available on BBC iPlayer.”

The Toronto International Film Festival has announced its prizes and jury members for its 48th edition which runs from Sept. 7-17.

The juries, feature film critics and filmmakers, counting five members for Fipresci, the International Federation of Film Critics; three jurors for Netpac, the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema; and three jurors for Platform (previously announced).

All awards will be announced on September 17 at the annual Awards Breakfast at TIFF Bell Lightbox.

After only four years of business, Kim Kardashian’s clothing brand Skims is now worth $4 billion.

“It has grown quickly, and we’re so proud of that,” Kardashian said in the New York Times. “We’ve had a really good flow of product launches.”

Based on the novel of the same name by Tonke Dragt, The Letter for the King follows a young squire who is tasked with delivering an important message to the king, who lives across the perilous mountains. Offering a more family-friendly alternative to fantasy shows like Game of Thrones, The Letter for the King is an example of Netflix's growing young adult programming and continues its long line of high-profile genre series. The Dutch and British co-production blended its fantasy elements with broadly appealing coming-of-age tropes.
