FAQ

A hand-written scroll, performing the function of a title card, reads:I, Lemuel Gulliver, give thee a most faithful history of my most interesting adventure in the south sea.

No major distributor has released it, but a huge number of small companies have. Many of the Max Fleischer films, including short subjects and features, are in the public domain, which means any distributor can legally sell copies without paying royalties. Beware. Some small distributors market copies of public domain films with poor picture and sound. Others are more reputable and deliver good transfers of the best available prints. Shop around. Yes it does, definitely. The only animated film originally released with no screen credits is Disney's "Fantasia" (1940). "Gulliver's Travels" has opening credits just like any other film, with a "The End" credit at the end. One important difference is that it is the first animated film in which actors who provide voices are credited. However, there are only two who actually are - Jessica Dragonette and Lanny Ross. Most of the actors who voiced the characters still remained uncredited in the film. This was because the two who did receive credit were reasonably well-known.
