Porky's Naughty Nephew (1938)

Trivia

Porky's Naughty Nephew

Edit
A swimmer resembling Eddie Cantor hugs a buoy and exclaims, "At last, a boy!" This references the fact that Cantor had five daughters and, according to an oft-repeated gag on his radio show, wanted a son very much.
Although the picnic setting is beach-like, a sea star would not be found in a fresh water lake.
Introducing nephews and nieces of an established cartoon character was common at the time. It was a way around the Hayes Code, which required marriage to be shown before children appeared...even in animated features.

The characters could then show their parenting skills and family values without the need of having a regular spouse featured.
The racehorse mentions Santa Anita racecourse, a popular gathering spot for many Hollywood and society folk. It had opened four years prior, in 1934.
