It's a grand day at the beach for Tom and his girlfriend Toots - that is, until Jerry shows up (and, for a while, gets a rather vicious crab involved as well). It's a grand day at the beach for Tom and his girlfriend Toots - that is, until Jerry shows up (and, for a while, gets a rather vicious crab involved as well). It's a grand day at the beach for Tom and his girlfriend Toots - that is, until Jerry shows up (and, for a while, gets a rather vicious crab involved as well).

I adore Tom and Jerry, and I enjoyed this cartoon. The only quibble I have is that the pacing is a little too fast, but it is still hugely enjoyable. The animation is absolutely, very colourful and bright, and the music is rousing. The sight gags are plentiful and all of them work, while the story while perhaps routine at first glance is effective and has a good structure. Tom and Jerry still have their likability, I am probably biased as I love this duo too much and hate criticising them.
Overall, just a rock solid Tom and Jerry cartoon, with a lot going for it. It mayn't be their best, but boy isn't it entertaining, the ending especially brought a smile to my face. 9/10 Bethany Cox

Tom is spending a day at the beach, and is out to impress the sexy white cat who is sunbathing nearby. Mischievous Jerry, however, is determined to scupper Tom's plans.
I love it when Tom and Jerry get away from their usual domestic setting to cause havoc somewhere new, and the seaside proves to be the ideal locale for plenty of inventive mayhem and violent hi-jinx: the cat and mouse get in trouble with a cantankerous crab, who is keen to use his pincers on the duo whenever possible; Jerry gets Tom to swallow sand, break his teeth on a shell sandwich, and leap head first onto a wooden post (which the cat is tricked into thinking is a drowning woman); Jerry is launched from a soda bottle into the sea; and Tom swallows an inflatable horse.

Tom is out for a fun day at the beach, but everything turns out to be a disaster, right from the start when his bathing suit gets stuck in the door! Then he dives into the ocean, but the tide goes out and he hits nothing but sand and a bunch of tin cans and other garbage.
One thing after another goes wrong, but Tom, to his credit, remains upbeat. Then he discovers Jerry in the picnic basket eating all the food. Jerry then takes big bites out of poor Tom, to gets further bitten by a crab, on and on and on. Tom - and the crab - gets a few licks in on Jerry, too, but only a few.
This is non-stop action, almost wearing you out in just seven minutes. The frenetic pace is almost too much.

Wow, I love this short. This is about the best Tom and Jerry cartoon you can find, as it is absolutely tops in both quality of animation and laughs. In fact, I think that Tom and Jerry cartoons of the 40s are highly underrated and in many cases are superior to those of Warner Brothers--especially in regard to the quality of the animation.
Tom is at the beach trying to woo a cute lady cat. And, to help woo her, he brings along Jerry as his slave. Jerry is throttled again and again by Tom until finally Jerry escapes and decides to get revenge. And in this case revenge includes shoving an angry crab on Tom's tail, nearly drowning Tom and finally making the moves on Tom's girl. The film is nearly non-stop action and fun.

Tom wants to enjoy a day at the beach with toodles, but jerry causes mayhem and for a while a green crab gets involved as well. Jerry bites through the cat's hand and locks him in a beach umbrella and then the crab goes into his suit and makes a flap in the suit, which consequently left tom's bum showing. Tom bites into a rock, drinks sand, gets trapped inside umbrellas, swallows an inflatable horse. Jerry hides inside a banana and ends tom's relationship with toodles when tom spits in her face, after being served salt water from the sea by the mouse. Jerry burys tom and when the cat digs his head out, he is smacked in the face by jerry with a small spade.
