Shelley Winters, Dan Duryea, Joan Caulfield, and John Payne in Haute Pègre (1948)

Trivia

Haute Pègre

Edit
Dan Duryea and Shelley Winters appeared together in two other films, Johnny le mouchard (1949) and Winchester 73 (1950).
"Lux Radio Theater" broadcast a 60 minute radio adaptation of the movie on October 11, 1948 with John Payne and Joan Caulfield reprising their film roles.
John Payne at one point says that Mr. McNulty (Harry Antrim) looks like Santa Claus: Antrim played R.H. Macy in "Miracle on 34th Street," in which Payne starred.
The $100,000 for the youth club in 1948 is worth just over $1.3 million in 2025. The $500 bid for the auctioned football for the milk fund is more than $6,500.
Rick asks Deborah if Jim had a picture of her in a "Mother Hubbard." This is a long, wide, loose-fitting gown with long sleeves and a high neck that women wore to do housework during the late 1800s; they look similar to nightgowns. In the early 1900s, the style evolved into the housedress and became more stylish. In Hawaii, it evolved into the muumuu.
