The painting of Don Quintus Quintaro seen in Chapters 11 and 12 is actually that of director Spencer Gordon Bennet in Don Q's costume.
When a mugshot of Donovan (Roy Barcroft) is shown, it reveals that he was prisoner 39013. This is the same prisoner number used in Les trois diables rouges (1939) for Charles Middleton's character Harry Crowel.
