The names of two of the three types of whiskey shown are "name puns" on brands of whiskey that were real. "Old Panther" refers to "Pure Old Panther Piss". "Four Noses" refers to "Four Roses". The third bottle is "Old BlockBuster, 4000 lb proof." This "pun name" refers to the WWII British Royal Air Force Blockbuster High-Capacity 4000 lb bombs.
The speaking voice of Lou is an imitation of Mae West. Her dancing movements were done using rotoscoping.
Just a few months after this short was released, La Métamorphose de Cendrillon (1945) was released. The character Cinderella in that short looks and performs very much like Lou in this short. Both performances were voiced by Imogene Lynn.
