    Ducan Renaldo Takes The Lead

Duncan Renaldo takes over as the Cisco Kid in the series, now from Monogram. He wants to get sweetheart Cecilia Calejo not to get married. To this end he borrows a small child. When he goes to return her, he finds her father dead. Soon he is accused the murder, joining the posse to track himself down, and getting involved in hijinks that gradually turn more serious.

One of the problems with looking at Monogram movies is the poor condition most of them are in, often VHS copies taped off 480-line television from 16mm. Prints. This was in pristine condition, showing that even Harry Neumann was a skilled and tasteful cinematographer. Unfortunately, the details of the movie are not as interesting as they might be. Director John McCarthy, in his last movie, seems more interested in the serious side of the story than in the humor. With Martin Garralaga, Roger Pryor, Fritz Leiber, and Bud Osborne.

    One borrowed child

With little Sandra Smith borrowed for the occasion, Duncan Renaldo busts up a wedding by claiming the intended bride is his and Smith is their daughter. but when the Cisco Kid goes to return the child he finds her father murdered.

All this is part of a carefully constructed scheme to grab the estate the father left There's a lot more coming from this villain as welll.

Duncan Renaldo by dint of the TV series of the early and middle 50s is the first Cisco Kid at least I remember. Martin Garralaga ;slays the sidekick role and well.,

    A good action western.
