This is a pretty typical Range Buster film in most ways. First, it stars the most familiar lineup of Ray Corrigan, Dusty King and Tex Terhune. Second, the idea of a local unknown baddie stirring things up is incredibly familiar. About the only thing not familiar is in a tiny throwaway scene, as we see Terhune's annoying ventriloquist dummy moving and talking on its own!!! There's no followup to this, no exorcism...nothing! And, the way they handled it made me chuckle. Otherwise, this is a competent, average and not especially distinguished installment in the franchise.
There's a few okay action scenes and Dusty sings a good song, but this sluggish entry in the Range Busters series is mostly talk, with our heroes spending way too much time not battling the bad guys. All three have definitely done better work!
Once again, there's a scene where Elmer, Terhune's ventriloquist dummy, moves independently of Max's arm. That's pretty creepy if you ask me!

Marshal Luke Graham: [referring to Dawson] But we ain't never had no trouble lest you count his tryin' for the marshal's job same as I was. Uh, maybe he's still tryin' to beat me out with Grace.
Crash Corrigan: Say, he wouldn't be tryin' to get you fired plus get your job, would he?
Marshal Luke Graham: Don't know why. Bein' marshal's a big headache.
Dusty King: Yeah, but it might be an awful big steppin' stone to a lot of easy money if you're not too particular who you hold hands with.
