Julie Bishop and Richard Travis in Busses Roar (1942)

Trivia

Busses Roar

Edit
The short that was theatrically released with this film is Les Tartempion à l'université (1942).
Feature film debut of Eleanor Parker (Norma).
According to plural spelling of bus ("buses", with one s) that appears in most dictionaries, the title is misspelled. As is, "busses" would refer to plural form of "buss" - an old-fashioned word for a kiss.
Sgt. Ryan remarks 'that's for Wake Island' just after punching the Japanese conspirator (at around 54 mins). This is a reference to the Battle of Wake Island, which started on December 8, 1941 (within hours of the attack on Pearl Harbor) with an assault by the Japanese, who carried out bombing raids for two weeks. The Japanese captured the atoll subsequent to two amphibious raids and held the island for the remainder of the Pacific War theater in WWII.
This film's earliest documented telecast took place in Tucson Monday 15 October 1956 on KDWI (Channel 9); it first aired in Washington DC Wednesday 21 November 1956 on WTTG (Channel 5), in Boston Tuesday 18 December 1956 on WBZ (Channel 4), in Sacramento CA Friday 4 January 1957 on KCRA (Channel 3), in San Francisco Monday 21 January 1957 on KRON (Channel 4), in Portland OR Wednesday 30 January 1957 on KLOR (Channel 12), in Indianapolis Tuesday 9 April 1957 on WFBM (Channel 6), and in Honolulu Saturday 17 July 1957 on KHVH (Channel 13).
