"Smoke" , who played Dick Foran's horse in this, and in other films, was injured in a tripping stunt (using a technique that is now banned). This serial was his last film appearance to be released. He spent his final 13 years in retirement.

Released on Blu-ray in 2020 in a 2K restored special edition from a new 4K scan of Universal Studios' 35 mm fine grain. However, it was discovered the negative for Reel #1 of Chapter #6 had been either lost, or it had deteriorated beyond saving. The Blu-ray publisher (VCI Entertainment) found a 16mm print and was able to complete Chapter #6, although with a difference in quality than the rest of the serial.
In Chapter: 7: "Death Rides the Storm!" The tornado scene is taken from Flaming Frontiers (1938) Chapter: 3, "Death Rides The Wind". Chapter titles are even similar.
