During one of their "cold treatment" sessions Zazu Pitts really was physically straining to stay seated on a mechanical horse. She was struggling so much she needed the aid of three attendants. In a later scene she is getting a rubdown and as her legs are revealed, her bruises sustained from the previous scene can be seen along both of her shin bones.
