Dorothy Gulliver in Trois de la cavalerie (1930)

Trivia

Trois de la cavalerie

Edit
This film is believed lost.
A 22:46 minute Public Domain version is available for download on archive.org.
This film received its earliest documented telecasts in San Francisco Wednesday 27 August 1952 on KRON (Channel 4) and in Cleveland, Ohio Wednesday 17 September 1952 on WXEL (Channel 9).
On his uniform lapels, MacQuarrie is wearing the distinctive unit insignia (DUI) of the 11th Cavalry Regiment (the Blackhorse Regiment), which was stationed at the Presidio between 1919 and 1940. The Regiment was involved in the filming of this movie, as well as 'Sergeant Murphy' (1937), with Ronald Reagan. Given their cooperation and the fact that their history includes these two films, it should be presumed (rebuttable presumption) that MacQuarrie's Top Kick is wearing an authentic and accurate uniform.
MacQuarrie is shown wearing the chevrons of a First Sergeant, aka, Top Kick, First Shirt, among other monikers. In the photo section above, it's also visible that his left sleeve bears nine or ten diagonal service stripes. Each represents three years of active duty service. Superimposed over those are three, gold overseas chevrons, indicating at least eighteen months in the WWI overseas combat area.
