"The First All-Talking Universal Serial"

Quite popular back in 1930, it is a now a very dated curio. Some of the acting is so melodramatic that it provokes laughter. The camerawork is impressive ( especially for a serial ). However, most people will have to put up with a lot of nonsense in order to enjoy this one. We did like Pal the dog though.

Trivia
Released in a full talkie version and also a silent version for theaters not yet equipped for sound. This, according to author Kalton C. Lahue, gave it the distinction of being "the first sound chapter play" as well as the last silent one.

Goofs
In Chapter: 10, When the Captain tells the soldier to; "Tell the Trumpeter to blow Boots and Saddles!", what is heard is some other unknown bugle call.
