Martha Raye in Hayseed Comedy

21-year-old Martha Raye stars as an Arkansas wallflower who meets a man (Bob Burns) who says he is Hamilton Lovelace. He asks her to marry him and they run off to Hot Springs to elope. Trouble is, he's really Bob Burnside, a hillbilly who got hit on the head and found Lovelace's car. His amnesia is cured by a puss full of water, so he goes back and forth between identities as the film proceeds.

The real Lovelace is being chased by G-Men, but then Burnside's kid brother (John Howard) has been charged with murder because Burnside ran off. Quite a few gags keep this one moving, and there are several musical numbers, with Raye singing "Good Mornin'" and "If I Put My Heart in My Song" as well as being forced into an acrobatic act at a night club.

Lots of familiar faces, including Olin Howland, Jan Duggan, Ward Bond, Rufe Davis, Wally Vernon, Spencer Charters, Gabby Hayes, Fuzzy Knight, Rita LaRoy, and Goodee Montgomery as Alice.
