Joe Penner and Parkyakarkus do a version of the "Go Ahead and Sing" routine with Franklyn Pangborn and Billy Gilbert: Penner is singing in the hall outside of Gilbert's room and interrupting his band rehearsal. Pangborn comes out several times to quiet him down, and each time Parkyakarkus urges him to continue after the door closes. Finally, Gilbert comes out and clobbers Parkyakarkus. This routine appears in slightly different forms in the later movies and TV shows of Abbott & Costello, with Lou as the patsy.
