Scared to Death, not to be confused with William Malone’s 1980 creature feature, is the latest horror film about the making of a horror film to come our way. Nigerian Action Thriller ‘Son Of The Soil’ Begins Shooting, Raz Adoti Writing & Starring

Exclusive: Shooting is underway on Son of the Soil, a thriller from Action Xtreme out of Nigeria.

Conceived by Action Xtreme CEO Chee Keong Cheung, who directs and produces, the film follows former former Nigerian soldier Zion Ladejo, tortured by his past, who is forced to return to Nigeria following the tragic and untimely death of his sister. Determined to find those responsible, he embarks on a campaign of vengeance and in the process seeks redemption for his past actions.

It is being shot entirely on location in Lagos, Nigeria.

British-Nigerian actor Raz Adoti has written the script, takes on the lead role and is also producing. He is known for roles in Steven Spielberg’s Oscar-nominated Amistad, Paul McGuigan’s Gangster No. 1; Ridley Scott’s Black Hawk Down, Paul W. S. Anderson’s Resident Evil: Apocalypse; crime drama Haven, and the action horror Doom, starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

The Conjuring 3 Prequel Comic Will Launch New DC Horror Imprint

The Conjuring universe is expanding to the world of comics. DC Comics announced DC Horror, a new imprint from the publisher, in partnership with Warner Bros. The plan is to deliver "a new level of suspense and terror guaranteed to have fans reading with the lights on, even in daytime." The new line will launch with a prelude to The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, which arrives this summer.

‘Big Shot’: Keala Settle & Emery Kelly To Recur In Disney+ Dramedy Series

Exclusive: Keala Settle (The Greatest Showman) and Emery Kelly (Alexa & Katie) are set for recurring roles in Big Shot, Disney+’s upcoming original series written and executive produced by David E. Kelley and Dean Lorey and produced by ABC Studios, part of Disney Television Studios.

Starring John Stamos and Jessalyn Gilsig, the 10-episode series follows a temperamental college basketball coach (Stamos) who gets fired from his job and must take a teaching and coaching job at an elite all-girls private high school.

Settle will play Christina Winters, Destiny’s (Tiana Le) mother. Kelly will portray Dylan, a high school student who plays basketball on the public court with the girls team coached by Marvyn (Stamos).

They join previously announced cast Yvette Nicole Brown, Richard Robichaux, Sophia Mitri Schloss, Nell Verlaque, Monique Green, Tisha Custodio and Cricket Wampler.
