The plane at the end of the film is an American Airlines Douglas DC-3-A made in 1937, registration NC17336, named "Flagship Boston". It flew for AA from 1937 to 1948. It was last registered with the FAA in 1976 and its certificate was canceled in 2013.
The $18.90 for the flowers would equate to $368 in 2021.
The third of nine "Torchy Blane" films released by Warner Brothers from 1937 to 1939. Glenda Farrell played Torchy in seven of the nine pictures.
From Torchy's telegram, Steve is working from NYPD's 7th Precinct. Its precinct building is located in Manhattan's Lower East Side neighborhood at 19 1/2 Pitt Street.
This film's earliest documented telecast took place in Bellingham WA Sunday 25 November 1956 on KVOS (Channel 12); it first aired in Salt Lake City Thursday 13 December 1956 on KUTV (Channel 2), in Sacramento CA Sunday 30 December 1956 on KBET (Channel 10), in Indianapolis Monday 3 Marc h 1957 on WFBM (Channel 6), in San Francisco Wednesday 6 March 1957 on KRON (Channel 4), in Shreveport LA Tuesday 30 April 1957 on KTBS (Channel 3), and in Honolulu Wednesday 3 July 1957 on KHVH (Channel 13).
